Biography
Matic Jovičević Klug is a materials scientist and engineer and his research is centered on sustainable magnetic materials and critical resource recovery. His work covers magnetic material recycling, development of rare-earth-free magnets via novel processing, and improving sustainability for electrification and green technologies. He extracts and recovers critical metals and oxides for magnetic, semiconducting, catalytic, and photoactive functional materials from ores, industrial by-products, tailings, wastes, and end-of-life sources. His research integrates high-grade material synthesis with low environmental impact, reduction, extraction and purification routes, new characterization tools, catalytic processing schemes, and scalable systems, including two patented technologies, advancing industry-relevant, cost-effective sustainability-led innovation.
