Povzetek
Mates project intends to provide them with an up to date, scientifically grounded training material that has to be user-friendly and intelligence oriented. Based on the Common Curriculum Counter Terrorism approach used by the European Police College (CEPOL), Mates project intends to: collect specific training needs, directly involving the target groups (probation officers and front line practitioners, representatives of Islamic communities and other community representatives); exploit the already existing knowledge involving prosecutors and intelligence experts and other relevant stakeholders in developing training materials; collect youth life stories in probation so as to develop counter narration materials. The training toolkit will be tested with probation officers and front line practitioners and training guidelines will be developed (all the material will be available in 6 languages). A wide dissemination strategy will be developed relying on academic path ways, as well as the cooperation of the Ministries of Justice and the involvement of representatives of Islamic communities and other community representatives. In order to achieve the above mentioned goals, Mates project has set up a consortium with strong competences which encompasses criminologists, psycologysts and sociologists; recognised experts in terrorism and cyber intelligence, and professionals competent in de-sensitising programmes. Project beneficiaries will be: - Short-term (reached by project activities): probation officers and front line practitioners directly involved in the project activities; - Medium- and long-term (beyond the project’s lifespan, achieved through the multiplier effect of institutional dissemination and the website): youth with radicalized background; law enforcement system; probation officers in partner countries. MATES project will result in the following major deliverables: i) National desk reports; ii) Common curricula/e-Training toolkit, resulting from the involvement of key stakeholders at national and transnational level as well as focus groups and interviews carried out; iii) Guidelines for probation officers and frontline practitioners.
