Environmental management in Russian companies - retraining courses for the sensibilization for and integration of Eco-Audit programs in corporate decision-making

Objectives (as indicated in the project proposal)Before the project started, there were no specific lifelong learning programs at the Russian partner universities that address managers, responsible for corporate environmental management, in order to train them for the implementation of Eco-Audit and climate change adaptation in their enterprises. In fact, the education and training had to be aligned to international standards and the state of the art of education.Thus, the long-term objective of RECOAUD consisted in the development and launch of a lifelong learning (re-training) and further education program with a focus on Eco-Audit and Environmental Management, which was and will be taught at the Russian partner universities.Within this frame the following specific objectives were achieved:• Developing curricula and textbooks for the courses for the further education program on "Eco-Audit and Environmental Management";• Training university teachers for the implementation of the courses;• Introducing new teaching methodology in the educational process of the lifelong learning education;• Fostering the cooperation between the participating regions in Russia;• Fostering the knowledge exchange and cooperation between participating organizations and companies.Outcomes1. Development of the curriculum for a lifelong learning and further education program "Eco-Audit and Environmental Management" for enterprises in Russia2. Training of university teachers from Russian partner universities for the teaching of the lifelong learning and further education program "Eco-Audit and Environmental Management"3. The summary of the results, the development of a module structure, feedback on the structure and case study addition to the textbook followed. The finalization of the teaching materials was successfully completed after an extensive evaluation and editing process.The guidelines and content for the teacher training for our Russian partners was developed in 2015, including a methodological component for a student-centred teaching approach. The teacher trainings took place successfully and the trained teachers conducted the developed courses on eco-audit and environmental management with 68 students and 63 company representatives during the lifetime of the project. Afterwards extensive feedback mechanisms came to play and case studies were included into the curricula and the textbooks.
