Povzetek
In the schoolyear 2015 - 2016 the working group health policy of Scholengroep Brussel imposed an inventory of the health plans of all the primary and secondary schools. From the analysis two bottlenecks were determined: there has to be more involvment en collaboration between schools-school group-health organization and there is a lack of structure, continuation and sustainability in our health policy. Our schools are requesting better support in their health plan and are asking a target-oriented supply of health activities and initiatives The working group health policy is willing to take up its duties to give assistence to the schools to function as healthy institutions within the diversity in Brussels. A diversity charaterised by non-native language, ethnic and cultural differences and socio-cultural disparities in a metropolitan environment. There is a need for a specific framework that respond to that. A playbook seems like the most appropriate form to provide our schools a structure and strategy that enables them to work in a systemamtic and a practical way to achieve quality in their education and live through health. We start from our own expertise to set a course and realize a startup. We established a focus group, composed of three members of the working group and several headmasters from the primary and secondary education. Each of them has a background on health. But we are aiming for a global approach. That is why we want to look further in other European countries where simular organisations already have been succesful in a simular context. Via the SHE-network we reached out for Poland (Osrodek Rozwoju Edukacji), Slovenia (Nationalni Instituut Za Javno Zdravje) en Estonia (Tervise Argengu Instituut) each with their own expertise. We want to have a clear understanding in their approach and see how it burrows its way in the schools. We will reflect on what we have learned from our partners and we will process it to our wishes and incorporate it in the playbook. The working group Health policy of Scholengroep Brussel wants to emphasise the positive effect of health towards all the stakeholders. It must contribute to the professional development of headmasters and teachers, the learning process of students, the education through parents and the support of external organisations. We are convinced that we can implement this via a participatory approach from a collective intelligence and an investigative prospect. This way we can exploit the opportunities and knowledge and assemble it into a powerful concept where health in education can be placed in a framework of lifelong learning.
