Povzetek
Within this project we will establish the Slovenian Competence Center on Chips and Semiconductor Technologies - Chip.si. Chip.si aims to accelerate the development of chip and semiconductor technologies, fortifying the semiconductor ecosystem at both the national and European levels.
Our Center will serve as a hub providing services to SMEs, start-ups as well as RTOs, universities, large enterprises, and other key players. We will drive activities and services mainly across four critical segments:
- Active Promotion of the Field to targeted groups and general society,
- State-of-the-Art Knowledge and Skills for experts and students,
- Access to Advanced Technology for companies, RTOs and universities,
- Effective Networking for strengthening semiconductor value chain.
The consortium behind this initiative brings together five renowned partners working in the field of chips and semiconductor technologies in Slovenia:
- University of Ljubljana as coordinator and partners
- University of Maribor,
- University of Nova Gorica,
- Jožef Stefan Institute and
- Center of Excellence on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
The Center’s area of expertise will be niche electronic chips (ASICs), photonic and quantum chips and components. We will provide access to a wide range of high-tech expertise in chips and semiconductor technologies also within a network of other European Chip Centres.
We believe that through its activities, the Center will foster an innovative environment to achieve new breakthroughs in the field. It will contribute to more quality jobs, skilled exports, economic growth, digitisation, the green transition, sustainable development and the well-being of people and society as a whole.
