Povzetek
The ambition of the project is to build up capacities and to raise awareness of all stakeholders about the importance to implement environmentally sound management of plastic waste contaminated by pesticides. Therefore, we need educated professionals and agricultural producers to deal with the management of plastic waste contaminated by pesticides. Since management of plastic waste contaminated by pesticides is a huge problem in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that there is a deep understanding of such problem this is the reason why we believe that the sustainability of the project will be ensured.
The sustainability will be achieved by ensuring trainers who will be capable, in collaboration with responsible ministries, importers of pesticides, companies engaged in the wholesale and retail sale of pesticides, agricultural producers and users of pesticides, to work continuously after the project on the dissemination of knowledge and experience as well as the organization of disposal sites etc.
Developed dissemination materials such as informational leaflets, posters, videos etc. will be used by many stakeholders in the entire country after the project will terminate.
Furthermore, the entity ministries (and departments of BD Government) responsible for agriculture and water management in cooperation with entity ministries (and departments of BD Government) responsible for the environment will have two key documents “Feasibility study for introducing the Container Management System in Bosnia and Herzegovina” and “Collection, transportation and disposal strategy for waste container management in Bosnia and Herzegovina” which implementation will ensure the sustainability of the project activities. Also this document, the experience of the project is a great support to responsible ministries in building a system that will enable the user of PPA to deliver the used, washed containers to the collection site where they will be taken by a company authorized for the disposal of hazardous wastes.
By improving knowledge and skills as well as infrastructure and collaboration of all stakeholders the number of collected waste materials will be increased.
