Povzetek

Public Transport (PT) is the background of a liveable and fair society. Recent developments have raised question marks whether the existing pt structures and service may be able to secure this role of public transport. Promising positive results have been achieved in other projects exploring new operation schemes and marketing approaches. PROCEED will exploit both latest R&D expertise and also the experience from transport operators and linked business and in particular RTD-projects both of national and international type. In a second step PROCEED will transform this knowledge into a knowledge base and set up guidelines and tool to support planners, educators and practitioners in their work defining the product and the approach to the market. PROCEED will start with the broadest possible approach increasing the understanding of the success factors for efficient and effective public transport.
