Povzetek
Given the perspective of supply-oriented building specifications, codes and standards currently enforced in most countries inhibit building and construction trade. Performance Based Building (PeBBu) strives to overcome this problem and aims at enhancing consumer-orientation, cost-optimisation, product and process innovation, and the enforcement of international trade possibilities in construction. This is expected to reduce total construction costs (694 bill. ECU in the EU in 1999) by as much as 25% in the long-term. The proposed network aims to stimulate and facilitate international programming, the coordination of research, the implementation of results from research in the area of PeBBu. It will stimulate actual investments in such research and projects and will provide EU Networks members with optimal access to worldwide knowledge and experience in the area.
