Abstract
Subject of investigation are pharmacologically active substances and products from medicinal/aromatic plant. Selected plants are typical for the region of our country. Chamomile, beside essential oil (EO), contains important flavonoides (apigenin, strong spasmolytic). By biochemical (enzymatic) transformation of apigenin glucosides it is possible to obtain the product - dry extract with much higher content of apigenin, as well as apigenin of high purity. After investigation of spasmolytic activity, obtained extracts and apigenin will be a main part of the final product with high spasmolytic effect. Investigation of potential application of mulberry for preparation of new products will include determination of optimal parameters of leaf, fruit and root extraction, analysis of extract pharmacological activity, as well as qualitative and quantitative compound content determination. The main goal is for mulberry to find new application, not only as food product. Using different extraction process of selected aromatic plants (basil, coriander and Rtanj tea), as well as of their mixture, the products such are EOs and extracts will be obtained. After investigation of pharmacological activity and determination of main compounds in obtained products, potential application in pharmacy will be suggested. In this research the modern methods of analysis will be used, such is GC-MS, TLC and HPLC, different spectrophotometric methods, and methods for pharmacological effects determination.
