Abstract
The proposed project is a continuation of the TR18026A Project, funded by Serbian Ministry of Science. In frame of this project technical documentation for the biomass combined heat and power plant (CHP) has been completed, fixed bed downdraft gasifier of 500 kW was developed, modeling of the gasification process with corncob as a fuel and modeling of coupling of gasification process to power engines was realized. The aims of the proposed project are: to build a demonstration CHP plant with gasification of biomass on the location of the participant (Agrosava,Šimanovci), to optimize the gasification processes in terms of maximum utilization of energy from biomass and to determine conditions for gas engine/gas turbine to gasification coupling. In the first phase of the project, the process of gasification, gas cleaning and heat recuperation will be tested. In the second phase, the demonstration power plant will be coupled to gas engine/gas turbine and necessary testing will be done in order to determine energy efficiency and pollutants emissions of the plant. The analysis of functionality of the demo CHP plant will be performed and all segments of the equipment, if necessary, will be improved. The final goal of the project is to obtain the solution of the commercially applicable technology of CHP plant, with the output of approx. 200 kWe The experimental equipment of the former FP5 project (regenerative heat exchanger, measuring equipment) will be used in demonstration plant.
