Abstract
The exploitation and use of renewable energy sources is one of the conditions for sustainable energy development and the meeting of domestic energy needs. According to development plans in the field of energy and energy efficiency of Serbia, subgeothermal groundwater resources are among the renewable energy sources with the implementation, use and verification of reserves at an early stage. Potentials and reserves are untested, thus the research of renewable subgeothermal energy (SGTE) has become more important in recent years. Of all forms of geothermal energy, SGTE is the most available, the cheapest and the easiest one to exploit. The proposed project will develop technology systems for the substitution of fossil fuels by using SGTE at 4 representative locations in Serbia, bearing in mind the possibilities of further implementations in other parts of the Republic. In addition to the forming of the matrixes for the exploitation of ground water as a source of SGTE in different hydrological conditions, thermo systems for heating/cooling by using heat pumps will be thoroughly investigated by the project. The proposed research will result in creating classifications and criteria by which in future systems for heating/cooling in buildings (using the SGTE) will be selected. Special attention will be paid to the development of this concept in the remote heating system as well, with defining criteria for the previous increase of energy efficiency in the building management.
