Abstract
The project R&D activities are related to the waste water treatment in the Serbian energy sector. A novel technology for environmental protection “cleaner production” will be applied. Waste water issues are not fully resolved in any of the thermoelectric and hydroelectric power facilities of EPS,the largest and most important company in Serbia. A special problem represent the various types of oily water which are inappropriately discharged into recipients thus causing the environmental problems. The goals of the project include the following: 1. The identification and characterization of waste waters; 2. The development of solutions for the oiled and other waste waters; 3. The development of new technologies and application of Best Available Technologies of minimization of waste water at the source; 4. The development of cleaner production processes based on internal recycling of water; 5. The development of cleaner production processes based on external recycling of water; 6. The development of new technological processes based on microreactor technology and process intensification; 7. Research studies on the environmental protection, cleaner production and development of next-generation process technologies. Project will generate very high number of new or improved technological solutions on the laboratory or experimental level (more than 20). Those solutions will support related investment decisions of project results users.
