Abstract
Identification and tracking of product/object characteristics in each phase of its lifecycle is fundamental for guarantee of quality and originality, which is expected by the user. Aiming to shorten the duration of the process that includes the product/object, it is necessary to shorten the duration of identification. Technologies like barcode, RFID, OCR allow automated identification, which greatly shortens the duration of all processes that require identification. Research in this project will be based on foundations and experience gained from previous projects. The main goal of research is improvement of control and system efficiency by sophisticated processing of data gained through integration of different technologies for automated identification and object tracking. The realization of this goal will provide technologic development in various areas, like: management of material flow, supervision and monitoring of states of product/object through different phases of its lifecycle (in closed or open areas), preventing sale of products that do not comply with quality standards, supervision and prevention of property estranging, electronic toll collection, access monitoring and control, industrial automation based on identification technologies application. Furthermore, the research results will influence further research in the following areas: industrial production, food and pharmaceutical production, environmental protection, security of people and property.
