Abstract
The interaction of magnetic field and electrical conducting fluid cause a large number of different magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) phenomena. The effect of external magnetic field can be used in technical devices such as, for example, MHD pumps and flow-meters, and in industrial processes to control the flow. Application of a magnetic or electric and magnetic field in the processing of materials is now recognized worldwide as a technology of great importance. In almost all industrial processes, especially in the chemical and metallurgical industries, it is possible to use MHD pumps. The advantage of MHD pumps is the ability to use them in very aggressive, chemically reactive and very high temperature fluids. MHD pumps have no moving parts, which increases their exceptional reliability. The final goal of this research is to develop MHD pump and to determine its working characteristics.
