Abstract
Studies in this project include very current and important world issue. In our country this issue is of special significance not only for the industries that are direct users of the research but also for the ample area of implementation, i.e. a large number of other users. Areas of research include special bearings for the car and railway vehicles industries, from the mechanical engineering point of view, as well as human locomotive system issues from the medical prosthetics point of view. By addressing just a few of the interesting subject matters, project research study is primarily and largely focused on construction and exploitation issues of the bearings and bearing assemblies whilst, to a lesser extent, also concentrating on specific “technological” side that is very important for automated production of the bearings and bearing assemblies, which also has a much extensive importance. In all the above, purpose of the research lays in bearing and bearing assemblies studies that include: 1) Integrated bearing assemblies of the vehicle’s wheels; 2) Shaft assembly bearings of dragged and tractor railway vehicles; 3) Angular contact ball bearings. Second segment of the research presents areas of medicine prosthetics, highlighted on: 1) Development of new types of the hip joint endoprosthesis; 2) Development of the modular revisional endoprosthesis; 3) Development of endoprosthesis based on the patient’s morphology characteristics.
