Abstract
The research suggested by this project refers to the development of methods, models and algorithms oriented towards the improvement of the closed loop supply chain operations within three important segments: locating resources, through solving multi-echelon, multi-level and hierarchy problems; choice of optimal transport routes of along with minimization of inventories; risk minimization and equalization in logistic systems. In this way, the realization of the suggested research is oriented not only towards increasing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of logistic systems in different economic branches, but also towards establishing sustainable solutions to the realization of logistics flows, with responsibility towards people, their environment and natural resources. Such a concept of the research offers many possibilities of practical application of its results in different industrial branches within which there is a need for the realization of goods distribution flows regarding the customers on the one hand, and institutions and agencies dealing with managing waste on the other. This is especially important regarding the fact that these new areas of research have not been dealt with enough attention so far.
