Abstract
The research focus is on the road vehicle fleet in the Republic of Serbia and systems for determining the vehicle technical condition.During the operation, vehicles gradually degrade their technical condition along with their energy efficiency and the quantity and composition of their exhaust emissions. The adopted standards define the emission limits for newly manufactured and registered vehicles. The problem occurs when changes in the vehicle technical condition during its operation start to impact the change, i.e. deterioration of its energy efficiency and quantity and composition of exhaust emissions. In order to maintain the permitted level of emissions, it is necessary to monitor the technical condition deterioration that leads to a change in the emissions level, but also analyze the opportunities to prevent, either partially or completely eliminate unwanted changes in the vehicles’ technical condition. The research result should be a model for management of the vehicle fleet technical condition in the Republic of Serbia, which aims to increase its energy efficiency and reduce exhaust emissions, as well as recommendations for improving the related national legislation, the defined procedures with the vehicle technical condition inspection technology and a software package for related data processing.
