Abstract
Old, damaged and unprofessionally installed electrical components may cause fire. Our project will analyse the regulations and literature regarding preventive inspection of electrical installations and the application of fireproof materials. A methodology including visual and thermovisual inspection, as well as the measurement of relevant parameters of electrical installations, will be developed. A software for verifying the quality of electrical installations, as well as the specification of the structure and contents of the database regarding the inspected electrical installation and fire risk in buildings, will also be developed. The influence of the characteristics of the building materials on the fire appearance and development will be analysed, as well. Lab tests of all faults that cause fire will result in recommendations for adequate choice of electrical components. Check lists will be made and used for tests in housing buildings varying in age in order to determine the procedure and frequency of the periodical preventive inspections. The possibility of technological adjustment of Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter, recently developed in the USA, will be analysed in order to apply such a device in Serbia. Relevant literature regarding the efficiency of the early streamer emission device will be analysed in order to recommend or forbid its further use in Serbia. A leaflet will be prepared and a seminar and lectures organized regarding preventive fire protection.
