Abstract
This project is the integration and harmonisation of sound and thermal insulation in dwelling houses. In such a context, the project objective is the development of technical solutions for integrated improvement of sound and thermal insulation in the existing residential buildings. The project is designed as part of research in COST TU0901, entitled "Integrating and Harmonising Sound Insulation Aspects in Sustainable Urban Housing Constructions". In addition to joint work with researchers from Europe, this project will deal with the objectives that have a special significance for the housing stock in Serbia. The study will be conducted in three main areas: (1) new descriptors for quantifying sound insulation in residential buildings, (2) integrating the methods and technical solutions of thermal and sound insulation in the existing buildings and (3) sound insulation at low frequencies. In the first area, the objective is the development of new parameters for quantifying sound insulation in residential buildings based on psychoacoustic criteria. In the second area, the objective is the integration and harmonisation of technical solutions of thermal and sound insulation improvement in existing dwelling houses. The third area of research is concerned with the physical aspects of sound insulation of dwellings at low frequencies and solutions for its improvement.
