Abstract
Operational control of electric traction vehicle traffic is a specific problem within the complex of traffic control. The project will solve the problem of optimizing control, with minimized electric power consumption and keeping traffic conditions stable. The main starting point is the assumption that the power consumed by a vehicle with electric drive can with sufficient accuracy be estimated knowing the speed and position of vehicles in the network. This means that the vehicle can be modelled as a dynamic electric load. The power supply network is viewed as the system of sources of known characteristics in terms of electric power delivered to the vehicles in the network. A system is modelled which analyzes and optimizes by operational traffic control, acting on those dynamic loads (vehicles) which do not affect the planned time-table, i.e. keep the system stable, minimizing the power consumption. Separate modelling and analysis, and optimization are done on subsystems that belong exclusively to the class of mass passenger transport, from the subsystems of railway traffic, which, in a single network functions as both passenger and freight transport network. Experimental investigations have a function of correcting relevant parameters which are either of empirical or stochastic nature. After corrections in the system, the experimental investigations present a means for practical verification of operational control on the criterion of power consumption.
