Technical and Technological Condition and Potentials of Community Cultural Centre Buildings in the Republic of Serbia

The proposed project is directed towards identification,analysis and evaluation of the buildings of community cultural centres in Serbia.Through 3 phases and 8 subprojects current condition,potentials and program possibilities,spatial and technical transformation of these buildings will be determined in accordance with changed need of production and cultural politics in Serbia.Cultural centres have not fully been considered so far at research or scientific or formal level.On the basis of previous fragmental research it can be concluded that the number of these buildings is great,that the condition that they are in is not satisfactory,and that the level of technological equipment is generally very low.On the other hand,cultural production,especially in the field of production of stage performing,in many segments already has characteristics of cultural industry.It means that the spatial needs in this domain are great,and immediate experiences show us the ways how these needs can generate active relationship towards these buildings,designed specifically for stage performing,and other as well,which become subject of multiple transformations.The aim of this project is creation of research corpus which will be the basis for establishing operational and strategic planning of reconstruction and further development of building fond,which directly creates the assumption for planning of stage production,and, indirectly,also the influence on articulation of national politics in culture.
