Abstract
Malignant diseases most often occur in an older age group. During the last decades, an increasing number of women who decide to delay their family planning is observed, leading to a higher rate of malignant disease detected during pregnancy. In addition, an increased survival rate for many malignant diseases require a profound knowledge of fertility-sparing treatment of patients in thier reproductive age, as well as a detailed prenatal counselling of young women who desire childbearing after treatment of cancer. This project would include research in three different fields as described below: Cancer and future Fertility Cancer during Pregnancy Psycho-oncological aspects of human reproduction and cancer The main aim of the study is to improve the quality of treatment and the quality of life of women in the reproductive age facing the diagnosis of cancer either before a planned pregnancy or during their pregnancy. The expected outcomes are development and implementation of guidelines for treatment of cancer and pregnancy, establishing a clinic for psychological help in reproduction and cancer and multidisciplinary teams for Cancer and pregnancy and integration of a National data base into a European data bases for Cancer and Fertility and Cancer during pregnancy.
