Abstract
Two sub-projects (SP) are envisaged: 1. CHP of District Heating plants and Industrial heat-only Plants (DHIP) and 2. R&D of Mini and Micro CHP (MMCHP). SP1 determines CHP potential of: existing DHIP that are members of the Business Association of District Heating Plants (BADHP); district CHP/CCHP to be built within the development plans for distributed production of electricity, heat and cooling of residential, public and industrial facilities in Serbia; Revitalization of existing and construction of new CHP in BADHP members. The SP1 envisages development of internet database of CHP potential in Serbia. The possible energy savings and reductions of GHG gases emissions, as well as necessary investments and economic effects of the retrofit of existing and construction of new CHP facilities will be also presented. Feasibility study, preliminary design as well as executive design for the retrofit of existing steam turbine CHP and construction of new gas CHP in selected DHIP will be prepared. SP2 will determine potential of distributed MMCHP with emphasis on plants on biogas and biomass for farms and rural households as well as in regional municipal landfills and waste water treatment plants. The complete MMCHP plant that uses natural gas for a typical household will be designed and built and the corresponding demo plant will be tested in SP2. Center for the MMCHP at University of Kragujevac will be established.
