Abstract
According to this, the project is focusing on integrated and interdisciplinary studies on the effects of application of different sustainable agriculture and rural development models in the regional specific conditions of the Danube basin (agriculture and rural development in the ecologically sensitive plain-marshy area of the Upper Danube region, urban and peri-urban agriculture at the Belgrade - Novi Sad metropolitan and traditional mountain agriculture and rural development in Carpathian region). Theoretical and methodological researches are associated with applied and developmental researches, during the projects implementation, which priority is confirmed by the regional SWOT analysis. The results, in the form of new and improved problem solutions in field of spatial (rural) development, new final products and services, improved technologies and methodological procedures, will contribute to enrichment of the basic researches fund, related to the sustainable agriculture and rural development and achieving the strategic goals of the Republic of Serbia in this field, in the Danube basin, in accordance with the development priorities of the EU Strategy for the Danube region.
