Digital media technologies and socio-educational changes

The subject of this interdisciplinary research is technological and social aspects of the development of digital media technologies and their impact on social communication, education and culture in Serbia. The project consists of two interdisciplinary subprojects: 1. Technological and mediological aspects of digitalization of television, 2. Social and educational aspects of the usage of digital media technologies. Participant of the first subproject is public broadcaster Radio-television of Vojvodina. The result of this partnership, accompanied by cooperation with regional partners, will be the analysis of transition form analogue to digital broadcasting, improvement of digital broadcasting in Vojvodina and Serbia, advancement of professional standards and competences of media managers, journalists and technical staff, as well as the analysis of dynamics and rationale for the introduction of additional digital media services. The expected result of the second subproject is development of digital literacy in Serbia through modeling of creative and critical usage of digital media, in accordance with the principles of human rights, education for information society and inclusion in the multicultural European heritage. Key results of the research will contribute to policies in the area of digitalization, and to development of technologically advanced and socially responsible media.
