Abstract
With the research activities initiated by the Experimental HEP Group, the Institute of Nuclear Sciences Vinca participates in the three HEP collaborations: FCAL (Forward CALorimetry at ILC), H1 at HERA and ATLAS at LHC. Through the proposed project we are planning the continuation of research activities at the experiments mentioned above: Physics of the Standard Model at ATLAS, Luminosity measurement at the future linear collider, measurement of the gluon structure functions of the proton at H1 and the extrapolation of the multivariate b-tagging from H1 to ATLAS. Until the end of 2010, two of five on-going PhD theses will be completed. The others are planned to be completed at the time-scale of the proposed project (2011-2014). A part of the ILC/CLIC related research will be carried-out within the FP7-INFRASTRUCTURES-2010-1 project ‘Advanced Infrastructure for Detectors at Accelerators’. In order to support the realization of the project we are proposing, Prof. Dr. W. Lohmann (DESY), spokesman of the FCAL Collaboration, accepted to participate this project as a prominent foreign scientist. ?he project has been also supported by the collaborations we participate, through the open letters of recommendation by (Dr. F. Gianotti, ATLAS, Dr. C. Diaconu, H1, Prof. Dr. W. Lohmann, FCAL) attached to this application. It should be noted as well that the project financing is the only source of financing of this research since no institutional financing is available.
