Abstract
The planned investigations will be primarily focused on complex disordered systems, chalcogenides, transition 3-d metals and rare-earth elements. The objective is to study the effect of the components and preparation technology on physico-chemical characteristics of bulk samples, films and nanostructured powders. The analyses will encompass the efficiency of standard physical models and those with new analytical elements, related to the interpretation, processing and prediction of relevant parameters concerning stability, structural properties, thermal and mechanical characteristics, optical and spectral features and behaviour in electric and magnetic fields. Apart from experimental characterization of selected systems, groups and types of materials, this will enable the determination of the values and ranges of the corresponding constants related to the particular models and types of materials. Concerning the mentioned characteristics and parameters, in addition to all the parameters that have been available up to now, a significant basis will also provide direct experimental results, primarily concerned with the preparation technology and physical characterization of the materials in the form of bulk samples and films from the systems Cu-As-Se, Cu-As-S-Se, Cu-As-Se-I, Re-Ge-As-S, Bi-As-S, As-Sb-S-I and Fe-Sb-S-I, nanostructures of some ceramics and materials based on SiO4 group with the presence of Mn, Sm and Eu, as well as Li-In oxides and Eu and Sm.
