Abstract
The studies on this project will be focused on the synthesis and characteristics of novel composite materials with metal matrix. They will comprise the investigations of mechanochemical processes during mechanical grinding, mixing and alloying of the powders, the analysis of fundamental and phenomenological interdependences of the synthesis parameters and the properties of metal and composite materials, as well as the modeling of the synthesis process in semi-solid and solid state. The studies will enable the establishing of the optimum parameters for obtaining the nanostructured composite powders, and finding the best conditions for the infiltration of reinforcement particles in semi-solid solution of the matrix alloys, hot pressing of particle reinforced copper materials, the obtaining of zinc and aluminium-based composites using novel casting processes and subsequent pressing on high temperatures.
