Abstract
This is interdisciplinary project. Several various, interconnected subjects will be investigated. Compounds related to substances with proven biological activity, will be studied. Work will include synthesis, physicochemical characterization and determination of in vitro and in vivo activity of physiologically active substances, coordination compounds and nanomaterial precursors. Structure and phase content of new compounds will be determined by spectroscopic techniques, chromatography, and X-ray analysis The QSAR analysis and mol. modeling will be done aiming at planned, targeted synthesis. Molecules will be subjected to semiempirical and ?b initio MO calculations. For selected molecules virtual docking on enzyme active sites will be made. For transition metal complexes, further development of CFF will be pursued. The nanomaterials planned in this project, are expected to possess interesting functional semiconducting, luminescent and ferroelectric properties. Project is relevant for at least two priorities defined in Strategy of Scientific Development of Serbia: Biomedicine and Nanomaterials At least 30 articles will be published in world leading scientific journals. Some results will be protected as patents. At least 4 PhD theses and more MSci theses will be completed. The collaboration with researchers abroad and in Serbia will be extended. The research infrastructure will be improved, and equipment and sotware will be acquired.
