Abstract
In this study, a large number of pharmacologically active compounds in the procedures of extraction from natural sources and chemical, enzymatic or microbiological synthesis, will be obtained. A special attention will be given to bioactive compounds from Hypericum L. extracts. Isolation and structural determination of secondary metabolites from lichen species Hypogymnia physodes (L.) Nyl. (Parmeliaceae) will be done. The content of enzymes and other compounds of pharmacological interest will be determined in fungal species Lentinula edodes. This research will be additionally focused on chemical synthesis of terpenoid structures. Characterization of formulations based on complex of biometals and polysaccharides and their derivatives will be performed. Processes of production, characterization and immobilization of dextransucrase and dextranase will be performed. The impact of various factors on auto-oxidation processes in polyhydroxyl phenols will be examined. Fast and simple methods for analysis of some antipileptics and antihypertensives in biological material will be developed. An important part of this study will be examining biological activity of pure compounds obtained. This study related bioassays will encompass cytotoxicity, genotoxicity, antimicrobial, antioxidative and immunomodulatory activity testing. Additionally, the relationship between the chemical structure and biological or pharmacological activity would try to be made.
