Abstract
The realisation of five topics is envisaged within this project: The investigation of new fruits and grapevine varieties for the purpose of assortment modernisation; The selection of fruits and grapevine genotypes; The technology of fruits and grapevine growing; Fruits and grapevine genetic potential for organic production; The morphology of pollen and biology of fruits fertilisation. On the basis of the obtained results within the first topic the best of the investigated varieties will be recommended for commercial growing in certain regions of Serbia for the purpose of assortment modernisation. A significant part of this project is the selection of new fruits and grapevine genotypes and their introducing into the production. Through the examination of the effects of modern growing systems and different pomotechnical and ampelotechnical measures it will be possible to recommend the best ones, which will result in the increase of fruits yield and quality. Since the organic production has become very significant recently, one of the aims is to investigate the productive properties of apple varieties and grapevine hybrids characterised by high resistance to disease causes. Taking into account that the problem of sexual incompatibility is present in many fruits varieties, the results obtained by examining relationships of fertilisation will help in recommending the suitable variety combination for plantations growing.
