Abstract
The project will deal with contemporary issues in the area of theoretical computer science, artificial intelligence and operations research, and will consist of three subprojects: 1) Automata, quantum computation, and fuzzy systems, 2) Operations research, matrix and symbolic computation, 3) Stochastic models and information processing algorithms. Research will be conducted in the area of automata and formal languages, quantum computing, the theory of fuzzy sets and systems, matrix computation, operations research, machine learning, neural networks, coding and information theory, algebra, discrete mathematics, statistics and other areas. Many valuable theoretical results are expected, as well as immediate applications of these results in the other branches of computer science, engineering, metallurgy, traffic, hydrology, chemistry, economics, finance, sociology, biology, medicine, etc. We will develop many methods and algorithms for computing and information processing (for natural language processing, image processing, data mining, etc.), models for application in audio and image transmission systems, we will make symbolic implementation of the methods obtained in matrix computations and operations research , and we will develop related software. It is expected that, as before, the researchers on the project will publish their results in high-level scientific journals in the field of computer science and mathematics, and that younger researchers will defend 11 PhD theses.
