Abstract
The goal of the project is to make advances in the theory and practice in contemporary techniques of artificial intelligence and their applications. An important aspect of project is possibility to further explore integration of certain techniques to non-standard fields. The project is divided in four interrelated areas. MULTIDIMENSIONAL DATA MINING - will deal with thorough examination of how the “curse of dimensionality” of complex data affects popular analytical tasks: information retrieval and data mining applied on documents/source code, networks, and multimedia data. MANAGEMENT OF TIME SERIES AND COMPLEX DATA - will deal with pre-processing transformation, proper representation and suitable similarity measures of time series and their application in different domains. PERSONALIZATION AND COLLABORATION IN E-LEARNING SYSTEMS - will deal with these issues based on learners’ previous experience and recommendations based on similar learners’ profiles. Analysis of learning styles and personal characteristics of students, and teamwork analysis will be used. INTELLIGENT SERVICES FOR DIGITAL CONTENT - will deal with possibilities to create extensible and publicly available set of electronic services for collaborative creation, usage and integration of digital content in various repositories. Proposed research will be supported by data mining, case-based reasoning, fuzzy logic, agents and classical techniques of model driven development, software metrics, data-bases.
