Abstract
Research objectives: Types of receptors and ion channels which participate in actions of endothelins, antidepressants, antipsychotics, antihipertensives and gold/platinum complexes on tone and spontaneous activity of isolated smooth muscles from human gastrointestinal and urogenital tract. Establishing potential of different antidepressants, antipsychotics and antihipertensives to cause adverse effects on motility of human gastrointestinal and urogenital tract. Population pharmacokinetics of selective inhibitors of serotonin reuptake. The project will establish:(1) type and subtypes of receptors through which endothelins act on motility of isolated smooth muscles from human ileum, jejunum and colon; (2) ) type and subtypes of receptors through which gold and platinum complexes act on motility of isolated smooth muscles from human ileum, colon, ureter and Fallopian tubes; (3) ) type and subtypes of receptors through which antidepressants, antipsychotics and antihipertensives act on motility of isolated smooth muscles from human ileum, colon, ureter and Fallopian tubes; (4) differences in potential of antidepressants, antipsychotics and antihipertensives to affect tone and spontaneous activity of isolated smooth muscles from human ileum, colon, ureter and Fallopian tubes; (5) typical values of clearance and volume of distribution for SSRIs in Serbian population, and factors which influence clearance of SSRIs.
