Abstract
Substances with the bioactive action, biological response modifiers (BRM) could express desirable actions, but in specific individuals this action could be unfavorable-very bad for their health. Due to the complexity of the BRM actions this project has three main goals: 1.Cluster of disturbances in general cellular and humoral immunity, especially the immunity to food antigens would be characterized in mild health disorders, in some autoimmune, or in malignant diseases. Methods planed to be used are flow cytometry, ELISA, immunohystochemistry , but also some biochemical tests. Clinical importance of obtained data for the type, stadium and disease outcome would be additionally determined by clinical examinations. 2. The procedures for the modulation of immune disturbances by appropriate dietetic regime, or by special BRM would be developed. Determination of the clinical effects of applied therapy would be done by mentioned examinations. 3. The cytotoxic, antiproliferative and antimetastatic potential as well as the selectivity in the antitumor action of some BRM (natural products, or of newly synthesized compounds would be determined in vitro. Ten publications in peer reviewed journals, and three PhD theses would be results of this project. Besides this, the contribution to the knowledge on the possibilities for cancer prevention, or for cancer suppression by some new BRM are results which are related to the better quality of life.
