The use of epidemiological methods of research, descriptive and analytical, would help in: -Assessment of the scope and importance that certain diseases have in the pathology of our population; -Identification of risk factors for selected diseases which will form the basis for planning adequate preventive measures; -Formulation of new hypotheses about the factors related with the occurrence of selected diseases; -Identification of prognostic factors for survival of various malignant diseases; -Investigation of the quality of life of people with selected health disorders; -Identification of factors that lead to inequalities in health and health care of vulnerable groups; -Investigation of health-economic aspects of various health disorders using cost-effectiveness analysis will help in selection between various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as well as in the choice of preventive measures.
