Abstract
The theme of the project refers to the universal and eternal question, not only of geography, but also of science in general, and that is the question of relationship between socio-economic development and geo-systems assembly of the territory, which is a key differentiating factor and the backbone of economic and geographic, geopolitical, and ethno-demographic, cultural and civilization character. Serbia is composed of several units of geospatial and geographic directories with mergers and permeation properties of these or adverse features, the isolation and separation of a wider regional constellations, resulting from geo-systems assembly of the territory. This geo-diverse also has spatial-physical and functional constants that have precedence, as in the field of spatial and functional organizations, as well as in connection with a mediation function and transit in relation to its environment. It is a geographical and historical regularity, confirmed in the past and present. It is an important factor that must be taken into account in any attempt at regionalization of Serbia. Analysis of regional differentiation and integration in the system understanding will allow better understand the characteristics of the historical path and the perspective of regional development of Serbia as a state. The key question is how regional geospatial systems operate in space, and how they are organized in space.
