Abstract
The research and the results obtained by monitoring concentration, distribution and lifetime of pollutants in the environment and their impact on hydrobionts and water reservoirs, are significant when assessing the risk to public health. The existence and concentration of pollutants in the geologic masses of drainage area and the drinking water supply reservoirs (water, mud), as well as their impact on biota have large ecotoxicological effects on the environment. The research of the processes inducing biochemical deviations from the conditions which might be characterized as limnologicly normal (physico - chemical, radiological, biological, microbiological and biochemical processes) should lead to determination of the risk factors, their impact and methodology for definition of preventive measures for suppression of ecotoxicological impact on human population. The research results will be used to formulate methods for remediation of the current state of ecosystems and possibilities of application of existing and / or new biotechnological and technological processes.
