Abstract
Project “Groundwater potential and base for its sustainable utilization” along with some practical benefits would enable to update and upgrade national scientific approaches in accordance with most recent studies and analyses done by international academic society. The proposed project represents continuation of the past activities conducted by Department of Hydrogeology (DHG) of the FMG, University of Belgrade under auspicious support of Ministry of Science and Technology of Serbia. Project is consider as a very important from theoretical point of view because its results would improve hydrogeological knowledge about the country’s resources and nevertheless its practical application would enable to establish a new national strategy in water sector and manage available groundwater resources in sustainable and more efficient manner. The DHG team consists of 8 experienced researchers mostly involved in previous conducted projects for MSTS as well as 3 young researchers that preparing their PhD thesis on some aspects of the project concerned. During project implementation the results that would be achieved will be published in National monograph. Also, three chapters in international monographs are expected to be issued and around 50 articles in numerous scientific journals of national and international character, as well as in proceedings of international and national scientific events.
