Abstract
Sources used for the researches of Serbian medieval history are sparse, but very diverse. In the process of their publications many blanks and defects are still present. It is necessary to eliminate these problems in order to have reliable historical researches and results based on them. Equally important in the medievalists' efforts is to focus their interest on the history of society and state instead on the history of the events. Being closely related, both problems need to be dealt with simultaneously. The efforts of the researches will be focused in two directions: 1 publications and analysis of sources for the researches of state and society: charters, records from the Archives of Adriatic cities, manuscripts etc; the advantage will have those sources that are unknown or incorrectly published. 2 researches in the field of state and society of medieval Serbia, Bosnia and Zeta with the goal to reveal the most important methodological problems, unsolved issues, and to offer the results, considering concrete problems in social stratification, local administration, spreading of the literacy, structure of the cities, the literate production and its part in the state ideology. Similar to the previous period, the basic results will be published in the annual review Stari srpski arhiv (Anciennes Archives Serbes), and in the review Gradja o prošlosti Bosne (Matériaux pour l'historie de Bosnie), a scientific review of Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republika Srpska.
