Abstract
The project Serbian and its resources: theory, description and applications builds upon the results of the previous projects (1743, 1748, 148021), and represents a continuation of close cooperation of linguists and IT specialists in linguistic research modernization of Serbian and the development of modern electronic language resources. The project will include all relevant areas of study of Serbian, as well as research important for education and language standardization. The project also includes the development of a multi-purpose electronic corpus as well as the development of tools that will facilitate its use in different applications. The research results will be presented in the form of monographs, articles in national and international journals as well as at scientific conferences in the country and abroad. Digital resources for Serbian that provide contemporary insight into its properties will also be developed, as well as IT applications that rely on Serbian. Research results and resources that will be created will be of importance not only for the development of the aforementioned disciplines, but also for standardization of Serbian, university education, teaching Serbian as a first language and as a second language , creating textbook literature (at various levels), lexicography and development of terminology standards, as well as for the presentation of Serbian on the Internet.
