Material and spiritual culture of Kosovo and Metohija

A multidisciplinary approach of spiritual and material culture of Kosovo and Metohia of Nemanjić’s Serbia up to the end of the 20th century will be undertaken in the scope of the Project of the Institute for Serbian Culture. In the scope of these researches the following scientific fields will be included: history, sociology, political sciences, literary history, ethnology, folklore, musicology, and history of art with constant indication to their links and homogeneity with the state in other Serbian areas. During the research, ecclesiastical historic development of that area, demographic changes, preservation of ethnical identity, problems of internal legal-political and social development, cherishing of folklore tradition, and literary and artistic creativity will always be taken into consideration. The scientific aim of the undertaken research is the use and strengthening of cultural phenomena of the geographic area of Kosovo and Metohia during eight centuries period, in order to take them into consideration completely. Based on the above mentioned, their historic and spiritual homogeneity will be determined together with other parts of the Serbian national being. We are sure such way will contribute to the production of creative models of the preservation of the existent cultural values, and their development in the future
