Abstract
For the topics of this research project we have chosen the teaching and learning processes as seen from the point of view of different didactic and psychological theories at all levels of education in the Republic of Serbia. The project encompasses the following aspects of teaching and learning: 1. The position and the quality of teaching and learning in the present-day educational system; the roles and competences of the participants in the processes of teaching and learning; the status and activities of students and teachers in the teaching and learning process. 2. Developing the concepts and strategies of teaching and learning based on the contemporary developmental and learning theories; developing the concept of pupil’s activity in accordance with the new understanding of the nature of pupil’s activity; organizing teaching and learning processes in order to achieve the standards of professional teacher involvement at all levels of professional teacher development; cognitive and emotional support of the pupils in the teaching and learning process; mass media and information technology as a support in teaching and learning process; defining the goals and objectives, as well as the prospects of teaching and learning in accordance with the modern developmental and learning theories. 3. Following the effects of the teaching and learning concepts and strategies; reflexive teaching and learning, self-evaluation as an innovation – analysis, development.
