Abstract
The research described in this project is a continuation of many years of activity of the members of the Laboratories of Experimental Psychology from Belgrade and Novi Sad and their collaborators in the field of fundamental cognitive processes and functions, with an accent on the psychology of sensory perception and language. The research is grouped into two global topics. The first belongs to the psychology of visual perception, and its subtopics are: (A) Perception of color and illumination. (B) Crossmodal interactions in space perception. (C) Perceiving the third dimension in pictures.( D) Subjective experience of pictures. The second global topic belongs to the wider domain of psycholinguistic studies, and its subtopics are: (A) Processing of individual words and inflected morphology . (B) Language acquisition and development of reading skills. (C) Dynamics of diachronic changes in Serbian. (D) Decision making under conditions of risk. The research uses the methodology of contemporary experimental psychology, including well developed techniques of presentation of content to subjects and recording their behavior, as well as advanced statistical methods of data processing. Special apparatus is used for rigorous control of experimental conditions and registration of subject reactions.
