Abstract
The main purpose of this project is the creation of conditions for developing new roles and identities through education, necessary to enable social changes leading to overall progress, an innovative use of human resources, personal self-actualisation of people and the quality of life. The subject of the research is the educational process encouraging initiative, cooperation and creativity among students, teachers and parents. The goal of this research is to analyse theoretically the educational paradigm focusing on initiative, cooperation and creativity, to review the current needs and problems in schools and, on the basis of these two components, to develop adequate models of work in schools, which will be tested and evaluated in school practice, with the aim of making an impact on role and identity changes of the participants in the educational process. A team of researchers will be united around the common pedagogic idea, and in accordance with it, they will interpret their research findings, taking into consideration the social context in Serbia and the world trends. The quantitative and qualitative results of the evaluation of needs, problems encountered in practice and the implementation of the models in education would be presented to the scientific community through publications, and to educational practitioners in the form of practical recommendations and ideas for introducing innovations to the educational system.
