Abstract
The subject of the research is to examine citizen participation in social networks formed in family and kinship groups, inter-ethnic communication, local self-government, educational institutions and politics on the territory of AP Vojvodina. The key results of the project would be creating models of social networks which would have realistic operational potential. These models would specifically assess social relationships which favour and reinforce, or hinder and obstruct reform and integration processes. The scientific importance is reflected in application of the general theoretical model of social networks on the research of those social contacts and social groupings that are particularly exposed to the influences of transition, reforms and European integrations in the modern Serbian society. The social importance of the research is reflected in creating operational typologies of social networks of different levels, through which the strategic decision makers, governing entities, as well as citizens can predict and direct the forms of social action and organisation in the process of European integrations. Marking the current social networks and examining the possibilities of their strengthening contribute to reinforcing reform capacities of institutions, democracy development and the civil society as a whole.
