Abstract
The subject of this project is a multiservice platform for TDM and packet signal transport based on OTN technology. In 2001, international standard ITU-T G.709 has defined device functionality, multiplex structure and user signal mapping, but it was improved by the 2009 version, which introduced ODU0 and ODUflex structures, used for efficient transport of 1GbE and other client signals. The platform supports wavelength division multiplex layer, such as DWDM and ROADM, as per ITU-T G.694.1, and provides Carrier Ethernet functions which expand Ethernet services by strict QoS definitions and reliable OAM mechanisms. The main goal is development of multiservice platform OTN10/40/100G IRITEL, which will use the principle "All in one system" and include the following interfaces: PDH (2Mbit/s), SDH (STM 16/4/1), Ethernet (FE, 1GbE, 10GbE) on the client side, and OTN 10Gbit/s and SDH STM 64 on the line side. Completely new solutions will be developed: I. Hardware platform with mechanical module and appropriate number of units, II. Embedded software platform based on LINUX operating system installed on the new management unit, III. Management software with client-server architecture and SNMP protocol to provide Element Management System and Network Management System functionalities. In addition to this, modules for DWDM multiplexing and ROADM reconfigurable optical add/drop of wavelengths will be developed. A way to expand platform to OTN 40 and/or 100 Gbit/s will be defined.
