Abstract
The subject of the research is an analysis of short-term and long-term effects of crisis which Serbia and its social identity have been facing with over the last two decades of the third millennium. The analysis will cover socio-economic and socio-cultural aspects of crisis that is seen in multidimensional key. Therefore, objective phenomena that characterize crisis modality will be defined, as well as the subjective perception of crisis processes. Crisis phenomena are separately analyzed from the aspect of welfare which is in the process of transformation. The research includes the fact that social identity represents a dynamic category, thus containing complex definition. A special issue is the transformation of social identity of Serbia regarding intense and already existing European integrations. The research will include theoretical empirical approach which will synthetically show the most important factors influencing the self-understanding of social identity of Serbia in the term of crisis. It is expected that the research will identify the objective and subjective moments which are of crucial significance for the transformation of social identity in Serbia. The aim of the research is to treat dynamically all the objective and subjective capacities within the social identity of Serbia which are relevant for the affirmation of European integrations
