Abstract
In the last ten years the reform processes in education in Serbia have been intensified thus further emphasising the need for evaluation of the accomplished. The objective of this project is the evaluation of dimensions of education quality in Serbia (efficiency, effectiveness, fairness, relevance, sustainability and coherence) from the point of view of various stakeholders, in the domain of conditions, processes and outcomes and development of strategies and models for improvement of education quality. The conceptions of education quality evaluation developed during the last decades are economic and humanistic-progressivistic. Overcoming the contradictions within and between the mentioned traditions is the base for re-conceptualisation of education quality as a dynamic category. The meaning of education quality is constantly improved and changed in regard to different cultural conditions and trends at international level and the need to see evaluation of education quality in the context of improvement of quality of life of each individual and society as a whole. The project is aimed at: 1) conceptualisation and elaboration of education quality, 2) evaluation of education quality in Serbia based on developed models, 3) developing improvement strategies of education quality and providing guidelines for creating the educational policy and scientifically-based practice and 4) affirmation of education and education quality as key social values and factors of social development.
