Serbian Theology in the Twentieth Century: Fundamental postulates of theological disciplines in the European context – historical and contemporary perspective

As part of theoretical auto-cognition, that is the critical determination of Serbian theological thought in the perspective of its historical and contemporary development, a study of influences and impacts on it by European processes in the field of spirituality, science and culture should be undertaken – particularly keeping in mind their reception among Serbs, but also due to the reflective activity of Serbian theological thought on the European spiritual context. Thus priority is given to the development of European and universal perspectives of Serbian theology and fundamental problems, goals and aspects of theological disciplines, which thus create a scientific and historical self-reflected evolutive self-critical relation: among each other as well as with other related disciplines, and their European originations. Analysis of fundamental postulates of theological disciplines should demonstrate methods, a performance level and the problems of constituting systematic theological opinions taking issues of identity, epistemological status and positive social evaluation of spiritual-religious aspects of knowledge into account, as well as the relation of constitutive layers of Orthodox spirituality and thought, in light of evolutive perspectives, according to the wider European spiritual-religious and theological-scientific context, including other Christian confessions, as well as other faiths, which is one the more important aspects of planned research.
